Toy Drive Donations Needed

Our blue barrel in the front lobby is currently looking quite empty. Bring in new, unwrapped toys or money to donate to the Kinsmen Toy Drive and help make a local child’s Christmas a happy one. The greatest area of need is currently for boys and girls toys for children aged 0-6, according to the Kinsmen’s website.

Here are some ideas of what you could bring in for those age groups:

Puzzles or easy board games like Candy Land, Snakes and Ladders or Hungry Hippos

Stuffed animals

Books (board books, lift-the-flap books, picture books, alphabet books)

Toy cars or trains

Modeling clay like Play-Doh

Dolls

Duplo or Mega Bloks

Colouring books and crayons

Bath toys

Pull-along toys

Stacking toys (blocks, stacking rings, stacking cups, shape sorters)

Dress up toys (costumes, hats, tool belts)

Puppets

Musical instruments (tambourines, shakers, xylophones)

The holidays are a time to share the spirit of giving and to think of others.  A small donation can make a huge difference to a child who might otherwise not have toys to open Christmas morning.
