Thanks to the hard work of our parent council (especially to Janet McConnach and Maureen Walden), our secretaries and Mrs. Simpson, the career day held on Friday, February 27 was a success. Our students were able to participate in a variety of talks and learn about a variety of career paths that they might not otherwise have considered.
Special thanks to our presenters who took time out of their busy schedules to speak to our students: Paulus Lacombe, Rose McHugh, Marc Berube, Roger Hill, Emily Lyons, Rob Szostak, Shawn Bulbrook, Patience Wilson, Cole Butterworth, Lindy Mackey, Bryan Watson, Ron Brierley, James Fagan, Al Cripp, Lorianne Cicchillo, Jill LaPorte, and Dave Illman.
As an extension, Josh Feltham, a professor at Sir Sandford Fleming College, has organized two days for our students to go to the college to explore some of the programs offered there in a fun, hands-on setting. All classes will attend one of the sessions being held on either March 3 or 4.
We hope to run another career day in the future and appreciate any feedback you are willing to share. Additionally, if you are able to act as a presenter in the future, please let Mr. Stone or our parent council know.
