School Trips

Dear Families;

Due to the increasing concern around the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Trillium Lakelands District School Board has cancelled all spring and end-of-year school trips. The means that all international, out-of-province, and out-of-district school trips for both elementary and secondary schools will be cancelled for the rest of this school year.

This means that the Grade 8 trip to Ottawa for June 2020 will not proceed and the Band Trip to Wonderland in May will not proceed.  We know that this is disappointing, however, the health and safety of participating students and adults is our priority during this uncertain time.

Grade 8 Trip: The families who purchased the insurance from DeNure Tours will be eligible to make a claim for the $100 non-refundable deposit.  Anyone who has paid more than the initial $100 non-refundable deposit will have their additional funds refunded from DeNure Tours directly in the way that they were originally processed.  Individual families will be responsible to contact the insurance company directly to open their claim. They will be sent a claims form to complete and return along with several supporting documents including their receipt showing when they paid their deposit and purchased the insurance, a copy of the terms and conditions (showing that $100 is non-refundable), a copy of the insurance policy and a copy of the statement from the school board (not the school) announcing that the trip was cancelled and why.

 To support us, DeNure Tours is putting together packages that will include all the receipts and other documents families will need to process their claims.  You will be receiving more information on the steps you will need to take as soon as possible.

Please contact the school office if you have any questions.
